The intent of the new Storm Vivid™ is to create a motion which expands the current Premier™ line, giving you a clear picture of the lane condition while utilizing Storm’s most technologically-advanced cores and coverstocks.
This new Vivid is projected to fit between the original Virtual Gravity™ Nano solid and pearl versions, combining mid-lane traction and backend hook.
Starting at the center, the heart of the bowling ball, the Storm technical team developed a new asymmetrical shape known at the M.A.D.™ core. "Maximum Accelerating Disc" technology optimizes the shapes of the RG planes to allow you to perfectly dial in your desired reaction.
Moving to the shell, the NRG™ solid reactive coverstock utilizes nanotechnology to create additional contours and surface texture. Proven in the original Virtual Gravity Nano, this coverstock allows bowlers of all skill levels to hook the ball like a pro.
Prepped with a 2000-grit finish, the Vivid can be smoothed with Xtra Shine™ if you find it has just too much teeth.
When the time to add to the product line came, Storm had a very effective ball (a winner all over the globe) in the Hy-Road.
The number one factor of ball motion is coverstock. So, when Storm was looking to expand upon the Victory Road with the proven components of the Hy-Road, Storm first started with the R2S hybrid reactive shell that seemed to match up on every lane condition imaginable.
Finished to 1500-grit as well, the new Crossroad is sure to skid through even the most hooking heads around. But if your speed is higher and the heads are slick, you can still adjust the surface texture easily as R2S is one of the most versatile coverstocks on the market.
Encasing the Hy-Road shell around the Victory Road’s Inverted Fe³ Technology™ weight block gave Storm the best of both worlds. The advancements made in Fe³ allowed them to utilize a larger mass to increase the dynamics, upping the differential approximately 15% in the 15 pounders. More differential equals more flare, and you can control the amount of flare with the proper layout.
The new Storm Modern Marvel will provide more midlane traction as it features a textured R2X™ hybrid reactive cover.
Prepped with 4000-grit Abralon® to match the “modern” environment, the Modern Marvel provides an optimum amount of traction throughout the entire lane; just enough glide through the heads without over-skidding and enough backend to verify you are indeed throwing a Storm bowling ball.
The Centripetal™ core’s symmetrical shape provides countless drilling options. So feel free to drop your favorite layout in the Modern Marvel as this shape has quickly

Hammer plans to add a Brick. With an advanced new core design matched with the strongest veneer (GTR Hybrid) ever used on a Hammer ball at this performance level, Hammer touts “the Brick is destined to be a staple in every bowler’s bag.”
The new “Brick Mirror Plane Asymmetric (MPA)” core design is completely asymmetric in shape, a highly unusual feature of the ball. The core is not high mass bias; however the low Radius of Gyration (RG) is not in the geometric center of the ball.
“This core shape was designed for a specific purpose,” explained Ron Hickland, Ball Design Engineering Manager. “The pro shop operator can tweak ball motion by making smaller layout changes when drilling the Brick. Those smaller layout changes will produce bigger performance changes in ball motion for the bowler.”
When you have a core as special as the Brick MPA, you have to make sure you have a coverstock that makes the most of the core’s performance. The Black/Blue/Red “GTR Hybrid” cover does the trick (finished 500/500/1000/2000 Abralon® Sanded). Look for the Hammer Brick just before Christmas on December 20th.

A breakthrough in coverstock technology rarely happens due to the complex nature of chemistry and polymer science. Yet Storm's new release will glide through the heads more easily than the original Virtual Gravity™ Nano yet still handle heavy oil.
In looking for different ways to expand the benefits of nanotechnology, Storm explored several additive options to the base NRG coverstock and found that adding mica to this shell material created a cleaner glide through the heads without sacrificing any of its ability to handle larger amounts of oil.
You’ll see increased entry angle with the new Virtual Gravity Nano Pearl with simultaneous amplified oil traction usually reserved for textured solids. Fragrence of the new Pearl Nano is Orange Chocolate. The new Storm Virtual Gravity Nano Pearl will arrive October 11th.
For the new Storm Frantic, Storm utilized a reliable, proven coverstock R2S™. R2S, the second generation of Reactor™ coverstock material, is clean through the front of the lane and strong off friction. With a pearl and a solid version available in the line, Storm prepared a hybrid version to see if it blended both power and control. Armed with the exact same coverstock as the Hy-Road™, it proved itself quickly during the testing process and moved on to the next phase, surface preparation.
With a 1500-grit polished finish, the new Storm Frantic was impressive during C.A.T.S.® testing as it created three times the entry angle of the 2Furious. Looking under the hood, you’ll find the innovative "N.O.S. Core". When compared with the "Turbine™ Core", Storm designed an increase of flare potential by more than 15% with this higher volume core. Wrap this core with the same coverstock as the Hy-Road. FRAGRANCE: Orange/Lime. Release Date: October 25, 2011
Roto Grip is excited to announce the upcoming release of the Shooting Star. The newest addition to the Shield line will be available at pro shops in October.
The intent for the new Shooting Star is to expand the Shield line, creating a stronger mid-lane roll without sacrificing control. With the success of the original Rising Star, the Shooting Star utilizes the same "Neutron" core as the power source.
The Neutron cores medium RG- medium differential shape is based on the concept started with the original "Photon" core. But with the "Neutron" core, you’ll find an even lower radius of gyration (RG) and higher differential in the heavier weights which hooks up heavy on the backend. To increase the mid-lane roll and bring an earlier break point, Roto looked at a few different options. Testing the "Ultimate Vision" coverstock in a solid version produced the desired motion. Prepped with 2000-grit Abralon®, the Shooting Star created a break point that was two feet earlier and more rounded, or smoother. Controlling the pocket is often the key to higher scores.
Columbia 300 Adds Another New Ball
The new Columbia 300 Encounter is Navy/Purple/Ocean (blue) utilizing the “Elastin 6.0” coverstock formulae surrounding the “Encounter” core (see picture). The core of a #15 ball provides Radius of Gyration (RG) of 2.50 and RG Differential of .052.
The chemical engineers at Columbia 300 have created a new process in which chemical reaction dynamics have been manipulated to exploit the elastic framework found in reactive materials. This breakthrough creates longer polymer chains that create deeper pores and allows for greater built in surface friction that helps absorb oil over a longer period of time. We call this new break through Elastin 6.0. To compliment the new coverstock, the cover preparation of the new Encounter is: 500, 1000, 2000, 2000 Abralon®, then Factory Polish.
Look for the Columbia Encounter September 15th. Check out the teaser video.

In addition, the new coverstock blend called “Inception™” proved itself right from the outset, hence the name. The surface topography showed Ra values up nearly 10% from previous blends. The highly polished Bandit and 2000-grit Outlaw both handle a variety of conditions ranging from a typical house shot to tough tournament action. When you’re looking for “long and strong” pick the Bandit. The Outlaw will be there when you need an earlier, more predictable reaction. Radius of Gyration (RG): 2.57. RG Differential (Diff): .048.
The “BioHazard” core shape is back in black, with the new Hammer “Magneto” core material. Radius of Gyration (RG): 2.50, RG Differential (Diff): 0.045. WWRD 6/23/11.

Track Adds a 6 Series Ball
Why a 6 series ball? Track’s R&D Department developed the 607A Special Edition specifically positioned between the 505A and 715A, presenting a level of performance that bowlers are looking for, right between the two.
The asymmetric core is a modified version of the "Legion" core used in the Track Temper. Extreme Angularity is the strength of the “SE6” GEN1 coverstock, making this ball a dynamic choice for the oil patterns in typical house shots most competitive league bowlers face. Cover of the 607ASE is Black/Red/Yellow and finished 500, 1000,2000, 4000 then polished with Powerhouse Factory Finish. 15# RG is 2.46, and RG Differential is .041. Available Now.
C (System) 4.5 is the next progression in Chemical Friction Technology from Brunswick. The CFT v4.5 coverstock has a lower friction factor than CFT 3.5 which improves length through the heads and mid-lane without sacrificing the quick response and improved traction on the back-end.
The new "I – Block" Symmetric core was created by modifying the original asymmetric "I – Block" core (which has a symmetric base and an asymmetric flip block) to have an asymmetric base. By creating an asymmetric base with an asymmetric flip block on perpendicular axes the two asymmetries cancel each other out making the core shape symmetric. The core shape was also thinned and stretched to increase the RG min while maintaining the overall differential. RG 2.555, RG Differential 0.053 Universal Release Date: July 12, 2010.
The Brunswick Revolver utilizes “ConneXion Grip” an improved version of “ConneXion” coverstock with a 4,000 Siaair Micro Pad finish. “ConneXion Grip” incorporates a new formula to increase the footprint size of the coverstock which improves mid-lane and back-end traction.
The “Jack™ Core” was designed as a low RG symmetric core with a high differential. The low RG engages in the mid-lane assisting in ball motion, and the high differential increases track flare potential giving the ball more opportunity to grip the back-end while using standard layouts and interchangeable thumb sleeves. RG 2.558, RG Differential 0.054, Universal Release Date: July 12, 2010.
Brunswick’s new Anaconda is the first ball with “Activator® Plus” Coverstock available at the Advanced Performance price point. “Activator Plus” is a more aggressive version of the original “Activator” coverstock formulation that maintains the durability and longevity of ball reaction that are characteristic of the “Activator” coverstock family. The rough-buff, pearlized version of “Activator Plus” coverstock used on the Anaconda creates more traction in the oil, increasing the ball’s midlane and back-end hooking action, while still being clean through the front-end.
The Anaconda uses an updated version of the “Original Inferno” core. The Ultra Low RG “Inferno” core revs quickly providing mid-lane traction control with a strong predictable back-end motion. RG Max 2.51, RG Differential .04, Universal Release Date: July 12, 2010.
